Yeah, the Shanmonster site is cool! A lot of my mother's old buddies from the belly dance circuit in the sixties and seventies are on that site and I enjoyed showing that to her a couple of years ago. It pretty much runs a gamut also showing belly dancers in art, old postcards, "pseudo" dancers, etc. So you can see the different looks across the board.

The site also shows some old "Burlesque" performers. I remember recognizing Jack Paar's first wife Burlesque sensation Sally Keith of Boston who was big in the 40's. I e-mailed the web hostess about her identity but alas, never heard back.
