Hi Eve! It has crossed my mind, but there's one issue that stands in the way: getting permissions from the copyright owners to include clips from their movies in a tangible form. The "fair use" provision of U.S. copyright law allows small bits of a piece to be used in an educational context, such as in a lecture. But distributing something on digital media is an entirely different matter. I don't even know where I would begin to find a lawyer with sufficient knowledge of Egyptian intellectual property issues to be effective AND knowledge of how to negotiate with Egyptians to get a good price. If I can ever figure out how to solve that problem, I might consider creating a DVD documentary, but until then I'll stick with lectures!
