Shems, you've posted some WONDERFUL photos to this tribe showing Egyptian dancers from the early 20th century! Did you find these in a reference book somewhere? If so, I'd love to know where so I can get a copy for myself! Internet photos are nice, and I'm so glad you shared them, but I still love the feel of a nice, beautiful book in my hands...

    If only.

No, I'm actually an internet collector. I have been forever. Every time I see an interesting photo on the internet I save it. Unfortunately I didn't always save the sources and some of them have probably come and gone. I wish I could be more helpful to you , but I'm certain these literally came from almost as many different sources as there are photos. Postcards sold on eBay (that I was typically too broke to buy), websites about early burlesque performers, websites that cataloged early entertainers, photos posted by friends, vendors, articles, culture specific charities, photographer's sites, dancer's websites, tourist's photos, you name it.

I promise if I ever do come across what you are looking for or something near that, I'll post it here.
