Re: The Morocco Project
Tue, March 22, 2005 - 5:39 AMI am pleased to have crawled to the computer this morning to tell you how Anahid KICKED OUR ASSES in a workshop hosted by Gypsy Caravan Enterprises this past Sunday in NJ.
Anahid is the MASTER of floor work...she started with a complete warm up...the kind where ALL my muscles were, good, warm, stretched and ready for action!
Anahid talked extensively about balance and core muscles used to create an effective way to and from the floor, back bends in 4 different positions and, finally, balancing (in my case a sword, others opted to balance cane).
I can barely walk and I have been doing floor work in my shows for quite some time...lol...Anahid had me using those muscles I didn't even know I HAD...
But...she also moved the technique of my dancing ahead by leaps, bounds and backbends...
If you EVER have the opportunity...take her classes...workshops...anything...she's amazing!

Re: Anahid Sofian (NYC)
Wed, June 27, 2007 - 10:53 AMNice to see people noticing Anahid Sofian. Many years ago I was fortunate enough to be a member of her troupe and it was an experience that I will treasure always. She is truly a brilliant choreographer and an amazing teacher. Lucky ladies who are able to take class with her now! -
